The Singing Bone - Hello Kitty
Drove down to Tradehub 21 yesterday at 11.30pm upon hearing from my gf that people are already queueing for The Singing Bone at the 24 hours Mac so they can buy it at the struck of midnight!
What?!?
There I was and all the kitty coupons had already given out where there hundreds of hopeful people. Some stubborn people still queued, waiting for a glimmer of hope though staff had repeatedly announced NO MORE HELLO KITTY!
Went back empty handed.
Today, 7.15am: Am at Science Centre and was just outside the Mac but they had only 120 pieces in stock. Meaning that 30 people can buy 4 kitties and the stock will be completely wiped out!
Oh no, small and ulu mac also means small supply of Hello Kitty : (
Approached a group of guys (and one fierce looking girl), all sporting tatoos of all shapes and sizes. One of the guy agreed to get one for me if they manage to get some. They queued from 3am. But alas! The stock depleted ahead of them.
Saw another two golden hair boys behind the counter with 4 each in hand. And seemed like they had some coupons in hand.
And they were kind enough to let me have one! So nice of them! So who say's Singapore men do not have chivalry? You are so wrong! In fact they can be very sympathetic and kind.
Anyway, some hilarious comments from my FB friends after i posted the above pic in my FB
: )
Thomas Tan This is power of girls.. if it's a guy who asked.. probably no hope. . Lolx

But I understand cos they queued from 12+am!
People may think of them as ah

Hailstorm in Jurong
Dark clouds were hovering and in the blink of an eye, lightning flashed repeatedly in the skys and thunder roared menancingly. The winds bellowed and howled, rattling all the doors and windows though I had them shut.
It seemed like the end of the world as I took a peek, sliding the window open to see the tall and fully grown trees swaying like they had lives of their own. I thought that a tornado had hit the earth.
We huddled in the living room with the quilt over us. Water was spewing in the little windows of the bathroom though they were shut and locked.
After a while, the winds became less tyranic. I looked out of the door and saw broken and fallen trees. The roads were jammed on both sides. My neighbour's flowepot has dropped to the ground with some plants uprooted.
Some car bumper was stuck on fallen plants and people were trying to put their motorcycle upright again after it dropped to the ground. My call was met with awkwardness and I was dismissed as being dramatic before the line got cut off.
Yeah yeah yeah. Me the drama queen apparently.
On a funny note, across my block, there was a man sitting on his AC unit..after the hailstorm of course! Lol

Soup Chef
Recently into making soups so ta-daaaaa! My creations:
Chicken Soup with Century Egg
Some of you may go," Century egg is disgusting! It is preserved in Horse's urine!" I beg to differ, this is just a myth! Take a chill pill! It's just eggs that has been preserved for days/weeks. Though there isn't much benefits derived from eating century eggs, you won't look like a horse or smell like it's pee for sure (la!)
Another creation, the Cod Fish (Bone) Soup.
The original recipe uses the bone of the grouper but I think Cod fish is healthier and more economical than eating Cod Fish if you ladies wanna save $. At least you still get nutrients from the bone, though not the flesh haha!)

Guess what, it's Wednesday! No Ladies night tonight though haha cos my gfs wanted to meet at Opium Bar for drinks. I had my favourite poison as usual. Not much of a poison though.. it's Strawberry Daiquiri!
Haze was 400+ but that did not deter any of us from a ladies night out! But we were "impressed" with a caucasian couple who sat outdoors throughtout their drinking session.. So romantic, not!
*coughs coughs*
Seriously, my eyes really hurt when the haze gets high..

My client says that Wala on Sundays is nice. So here we are, at Wala Wala on a Sunday night.
Omg EIC is playing today! Oh wait, its Jack and Rai so its accoustic. They sound so different wo the band. Nowadays they seem a little distant compared to them with them at timbre.
Mellowed too. Perhaps they are trying to appeal to an older audience. What older audience, people at wala wala can be teeny boppers these days!
Nevetheless, here we are with a bottle of Framingham Riesling. I love love love this riesling. So sweet that the other way to derive this kinda sweetness would be from Ice Wine already.
Dag didnt know what to drink so introduced him my favourite drink. The daiquiri. My favourite is Strawberry.
The arrival of dear Michael means its time for some "serious drinking."
After Riesling, we had chardonnay but it aint as good. And the kroeneberg didnt make it better.
Seeing stars already and I accidentally spilled wine from a glass. I was a little stunned at the impact and my folly.
My drinking skills has gone down the dumps. Didnt recall much of the events thereafter too.
Meeting the guys gave a sense of dejavu. When I was 21, we were just trainees in our polo tees sweeping up dried leaves, lazing in our bunk beds takking. Playing vollleyball. I was all so innocent, blushing when there was a song being dedicated to me over the resident dj at the mass. And another time when one of the senior officers approached me at the canteen. Yeah we had sneaked into the canteen to buy food cos dear Jess was sick of mass food.
I wonder if we would ever have the chance to meet had I not been there.
How would life have changed had we met at a different place Would we have stopped to smile or say hi to each other?
